Here you'll find all the practical information you need to prepare your visit to the towers of La Rochelle.

Opening hours

April 1 to June 30
10am - 1pm and 2.15pm - 6.30pm
Closed on the 1st Monday morning of each month.

The Tour de la Chaîne is exceptionally closed from May 26 to June 2 inclusive for the installation of Laurent-David Garnier's SAULAVY exhibition.

July 1 to August 31
10am - 6:30pm

September 1 to 30
10am - 1pm and 2.15pm - 6.30pm
Closed on the 1st Monday morning of the month

October 1 to March 31
10am - 1pm and 2.15pm - 5.30pm
Closed on the 1st Monday of each month

Please note: last admission 45 minutes before closing time.

Closed on January 1, May 1 and December 25.

La Rochelle towers are located in the heart of the city.
Numerous parking lots are available.

BY BIKE

The city of La Rochelle is on the Vélodyssée cycling itinerary.
The Accueil Vélo-labeled monument offers all the services needed for comfortable access by bike.

BY TRAIN

La Rochelle is served by the SNCF Paris - La Rochelle line.
The station is within walking distance (1 km).

Services and visiting conditions

  • There are many steps along the way.
  • The monument has no toilets.
  • Suitcases and large hiking bags are not permitted.
  • Pets are not allowed, even in a carrier bag.
  • Smoking and eating are not permitted inside the monument.
  • The monument is not accessible to minors unaccompanied by a responsible adult.
  • For groups, advance booking is required to access the monument: see the page dedicated to groups.
